If you are tired of breathing in the smog from the city, or if you are sick of seeing a host of buildings and commercial establishments - making you feel suffocated - you do not need to get out of the city limits just to breathe in some fresh air.

The Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Nature Center, located smack in the middle of Quezon City, was developed into a haven for nature lovers.

Currently, the park covers eighty hectares of land, and the original intention was to simulate a natural forest setting. Thus, more than 30 plant and shrub species, as well the endangered monkey-eating eagle, can be found here. There are over 2,400 trees which are mostly grow on the Philippines populate the entire park area.

To further increase one’s appreciation of the beauty of Mother Nature, there is a grove, a mini-zoo and a rock garden. Visitors from out of town can enjoy the well-made products from a crafts village. Children can enjoy the playground, and there is a man-made lagoon for boating enthusiasts.

Due to its proximity to major areas within the metropolis, the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Nature Center is fast becoming a popular spot for all ages. Not only is it a perfectly romantic or family-oriented spot, but it takes nature closer to the hearts of the people by giving them a glimpse of the bounties and beauty that Mother Nature has, even though it is located within the city bounds.
