Quezon City Mayor ordered closure of a restoPosted by msese

Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. of Quezon City recently ordered a bar and restaurant featuring famous singers to be closed because of the noise pollution it causes and its lack of mayor's permit for two years now.

Tuesday, one of the personnel of Pacifico Maghacot, chief of the city government's Bureau of Licensing and Permit Office (BPLO), together with the police, has locked the Conspiracy Garden Cafe. Superintendent Nestor Abalos led the operation. The famous bar and restaurant is located at Visayas Avenue near Quezon City Memorial.

Maghacot reported that the residents nearby were complaining that the nightly shows featuring popular folk singers cause noise pollution in their area.

Upon inspection, the police found that the firm also failed to secure a mayor's permit in the last 2 years even if it was paying its yearly taxes and regulatory fees.

The bar and restaurant failed the noise pollution test conducted by the Quezon City government even if the restaurant has soundproofing. Magcahot said that Quezon Cit would only allow its operation once it has complied with Quezon City government's requirements and once it has solved its noise pollution issues.
