Must See QC
Quezon City, already recognized as the richest in the country for the past three years, may soon be recognized also as the food and entertainment capital of the Philippines. This is if the newly-organized QC Tourism Council would have its wat.
Former Tourism Secretary Narzalina Lim chairs the QCTC, which is composed of volunteers from the hospitality, travel, entertainment and education/training sectors in the city. She announced that a Q-linary Food Festival will launched next month at the Araneta Center (October 7-9) and Eastwood City (October 21-23).
The food festival will serve as the opening salvo of the QCTC’s campaign to attract non-residents and visitors to the city and make it into the destination of choice for dining, sighseeing, shopping and family leisure.
Dubbed “Must See QC,” the campaign will promote the city’s historical and cultural sites, its diverse offerings in shopping, arts and sports, its educational institutions, including UP’s Asian Institute of Tourism, the nation’s pioneer tourism school, and the Center for Culinary Arts, the foremost culinary school in the country today.
Other “must see” historical destinations in QC are: the Quezon Memorial Shrine Museum, Bantayog ng mga Bayani, People Power Monument, EDSA Shrine and Sigaw ng Pugad Lawin Shrine.
For nature reserves and educational institutions, there are the Ninoy Aquino Park and Wildlife Santuary, Balara Park, La Mesa Ecopark, San Pedro Bautista Church (the second oldest church in the country), Philippine Science High School, University of the Philippines, and UP-AIT.
For shopping , dining and entertainment, the city boasts of Eastwood City, Araneta Center, the Timog-Morato Strip, ABS-CBN, GMA-7, ABC-5, PTV-4, RPN-9, IBC-13, and various SM malls. Comments : Add a comment
