| Can't expcet much...hopefully, some positive developments...as far as the government is concern...when will it all end? too much politicking in the Philippines? |

| People expect that Arroyo's address would focus on the economic gains of the Philippines. Mike Defensor, president's spokesperson said that 7 provinces have been lifted from poverty. Do you agree on this? |

| What is the basis for such claim? I still see children in the streets begging for money...for food...and they are more rampant here in Manila...How about the plight of the people in squatter's area? I've seen worst. And I can only say, that poverty, if it is being addressed by the government, poverty is still the biggest issue that needs to be resolved...next to corruption and too much politics in the government... |

A UP Professor gave GMA a passing grade of 3 for for her state of the nation address. if you were to grade GMA's SONA, what would it be? Il give her an "incomplete" because she has yet to prove all her promises.
NOte: Peso and stocks were up after the SONA? mere coincidence??? |

I was able to take a glimpse of it. I don't think it is a mere coincidence that the peso and stocks were up after the SONA. Until now, the activity in the market is quite impressive. Maybe because from the point of view of the business sector, it's high time that the government should focus on economic plans and projects for economic development.
With the super regions plan a big bulk of the economic policy presented at SONA, I wish for its soonest implementation. The local governments have been eyeing for this grand plan to be implemented. |

I think cha cha is part of the political reform with the current political system. Most often than not, the efficient work which should be done by the legislative and executive department is entagled with their political compromises. Yung HOR and yung Senate na lang, hindi magkaintindihan madalas.
Atsaka, the proposed amendments would also give way to federalism eh, from what I've heard. If that's the case, there would be enough opportunity for the local governments to find their way to economic and political development.
With the way our fiscal standing favors us, tingin ko, mas magiging madali ang pagsstart ng projects which were presented at SONA. |
